If you prefer simple protection against damaging vibrations, the PCH 1106 Mk2 vibration sensor is a price-attractive solution that can easily be connected to a PLC or CTS system.
PCH 1106 Mk2 provides continuous monitoring of rotating machinery.
It can also be used for periodic measurements by connecting a portable meter such as the PCH 1033, which displays the actual vibration level at the point of a permanently mounted PCH 1106 Mk2.
When the sensor is connected to a PLC or CTS system, it provides active protection of the machine, which reduces the risk of damage to the machine and, consequently, reduces the maintenance costs.
PCH 1106 Mk2 can be delivered with a bearing temperature output measuring the bearing housing or a raw time waveform output.

Main Features
The PCH 1106 vibration sensor comes in two versions, a standard ISO 10816-3 version for measuring vibrations and a T-version for measuring vibrations and temperature. Both offers a 4-pin M12 top exit connector:
Standard version: PCH 1106 for ISO 20816-3
The standard version offers simple protection against machine damage by measuring vibrations.
PCH 1106 for ISO 10816-3 features:
- Velocity mm/s, 0-10/20/50/100 mm/s
- Filter range 10-1000 Hz
- True RMS detector
- 4-20 mA / 1-5 VDC output
- Article code PCH1106/CHF8112: 0-20 mm/s
- Article code PCH1106/CHF8113: 0-50 mm/s
- Special 8-pin version PCH1106/CHF8170X1: 0-50 mm/s
- Measures in mm/s, m/s2 or mm, rms or Pk-Pk
- Provides an output in both mA and voltage relative to full scale (FS)
- Sensitive parallel to the length axis
Other PCH 1106 configurations:
- Acceleration m/s²
- Displacement mm Peak-Peak, 0-2.5/5/10/15/20 mm
- Customised frequency ranges
PCH 1106 T (temperature and vibration)
If your application requires temperature measurements as well as vibration monitoring, use the PCH 1106 T. Both vibration and surface temperature measurements are provided through dual 4-20 mA outputs, making a separate Pt100 transmitter redundant.
PCH 1106 T features
- Measuring Velocity mm/s, 0-10/20/50/100 mm/s
- Filter range 10-1000 Hz (ISO 10816-3/20816-3)
- Surface temperature 0-100 °C
- True RMS detector
- Dual 4-20 mA relative to vibration and temperature
- Article code PCH 1106/CHF8243: 0-20 mm/s + temperature 0-100 °C
- Article code PCH 1106/CHF8265: 0-50 mm/s + temperature 0-100 °C
Other PCH 1106 T configurations:
- Acceleration m/s²
- Displacement mm Peak-Peak, 0-2.5/5/10/15/20 mm
- Customised frequency ranges
Applications
The PCH 1106 vibration sensor can be used to monitor many different machines in a production environment. It is suitable for monitoring vibrations in rotating machinery such as:
- ventilators
- fans
- pumps
- decanters
- separators
- mills.
Functionality
The vibration sensor consists of a vibration sensor as well as output electronics, which are embedded in a stainless steel housing. The PCH 1106 Mk2 monitors mechanical vibrations according to DIN/ISO 20816.
The PCH 1106 Mk2 can be delivered to measure velocity (mm/s), acceleration (m/s2) or displacement (mm) and measures in true RMS or Peak-Peak. Optionally, the PCH 1106 Mk2 can be delivered with a 420 mA surface temperature reading in °C as well.
The vibration sensor can be connected to a PLC or a machine monitoring system. Two DC outputs are available for vibration level as a 4-20 mA and 1-5 V DC signal proportional to Full Scale to the PLC.
Optionally, a temperature reading or a raw time waveform output, 100 mV/g, can be delivered instead of the 1-5 VDC signal.
Alarms for individual vibration levels can be programmed in the PLC or CTS system, where preventive action can also be initiated.
Connecting the vibration sensor to the PLC or CTS system only requires a single cable with 4 wires. The measuring and frequency ranges are pre-set by PCH Engineering, and the vibration sensor is ready for use at delivery.
Options
Monitor acceleration, velocity, displacement or temperature
The PCH 1106 Mk2 can be configured to measure either velocity (mm/s), acceleration (m/s2) or displacement (mm) and measures in true RMS or Peak-Peak.
The PCH 1106 Mk2 can be delivered with a 420 mA surface temperature reading in °C as well.
Outputs
The 1106 vibration sensor can be delivered with a temperature reading or a raw time waveform output, 100 mV/g, instead of the standard 1-5 VDC signal.
Compliance
The PCH 1106 standard version complies with ISO 20816-3.
