An axial ID fan manufacturer (OEM) upgraded their service offer to a power plant in Saudi Arabia. They wish to help the client minimize downtime and prevent machine breakdowns with continuous IoT condition monitoring and predictive maintenance advice.
The plant’s current monitoring solution gives the OEM no automated access to the vibration data from their 18 critical axial ID fans. That is why the OEM contacted us about IoT-compatible vibration monitors for the fans.
Historically, the plant has used handheld equipment for deeper vibration analysis and wants to retain access to the existing vibration sensors as part of their local maintenance program.

Each axial ID fan is equipped with a PCH 1420 Vibration Monitor with buffered BNC outputs, a PCH Input Box and a PCH EtherBridge communication module.
The PCH 1420 Vibration Monitor provides a broad range of vibration data, including time waveform data, while its built-in alarm and shut-down features ensure local safety. Its buffered BNC outputs enable manual vibration analysis on site as requested.
The PCH Input Box provides six additional DC process inputs, which let the OEM measure temperature in addition to vibration.
The PCH EtherBridge connects the REST API and time waveform data to the OEM’s online condition monitoring software, enabling the OEM to analyse the data remotely and provide input to the plant’s maintenance program.
